Hi Charlene! After attending the council meeting last night we have a much better understanding of the situation with the development. It sounds like it is coming no matter what and this is more of an opportunity to ask the developers for changes to their plan. We have two takeaways that came up in the council discussion that we would like to share. First, there was talk about a pedestrian crossing light by San Vito and McMillan. We believe it would do more harm than good for the traffic situation so we would rather the developers not include that in their plans. Second, one woman brought up the idea that she would be more comfortable with the development if there were fewer units. She offered a number closer to 200 units instead of the 235 units in the proposal. We agree that this suggestion seems like a good compromise for the neighbors of Bridgetower West and the developers of the multi-family development. That would cut down on the number of cars on the road in this area (roughly 70 cars if you figure 2 cars per unit) and the possible number of children that would contribute to the already crowded school problem that we heard about last night. If it's not too late, will you please share our thoughts with the council members if this is still an ongoing discussion? Thank you for your time. To Whom it May Concern, Please do not permit the multi-family development behind the Walmart off of Ten Mile and McMillan Rd. We live in Bridgetower West, right across from this plot of land. This area cannot handle an additional 400+ cars. Traffic is bad enough already. Furthermore, adding those 235 units would put too much stress on surrounding schools thus negatively affecting our children's education and upbringing. Please do not allow these units to be built on this land. We will be at the hearing tonight to support the efforts to stop this build. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Cole and Olivia Mayfield 3
