Mayor Simison, After participating in last night’s City Council meeting I would like to formally withdraw my application for the opening on the Planning and Zoning Commission. I was unaware that there was no real decision making ability for that group and that it was only a recommending body. Since zoning classifications are the sole determining factor in project approval I’m not sure what the function of the group actually serves. Thanks for your time and consideration. William (Bill) R. Clark P.S. I have one suggestion for future Council meetings. When the outcome is already determined prior to the meeting like it was in the Bridgetower Multi-family project, the public should be notified that the only items up for discussion are configuration not the actual project. It would save the public and the Council a great deal of time in preparation and presentation. Rather than pointing out the many, significant flaws in the data I would have made a very different presentation. 1 P.S.S. Chris Johnson is an exemplary public service agent. He responds quickly and succinctly when asked for information and is a credit to the City. 2
