Traffic along McMillan has become horrendous. The factors include the proximity of Walmart
and Costco along Ten Mile, and also the major expansion of single family homes along
McMillan between Ten Mile and Star Rd. McMillan is the primary access for families attending
Owyhee High School. Additionally McMillan is a bus stop location for the area schools, which
further impedes traffic flow at various times. Residents of Bridgetower West, who live South
McMillan, are required to cross this very busy and fast moving section, at San Vito Way, to
take their elementary school students to Pleasant View Elementary. This is also the access
route to the recreational park in the subdivision. There is high foot and bicycle traffic, no
crosswalk. Vehicles crossing over McMillan at San Vito have difficulty getting across due to
heavy traffic flow and often times take unreasonable risks to cross.
Apartments at this location would have a dramatic negative impact and significantly hinder
safety in the area. Until the proper infrastructure is in place, the construction of high density
housing should not be considered.
