To City of Meridian,
I am a home owner in the Jump Creek homes. I have now lived here for two years. During
this time the traffic congestion has increased 55% around the N Black cat RD and W
McMillan RD surrounding area. Not only there but in the surrounding areas connected to
Chinden Blvd and N Ten Mile Rd. Theses new apartments are not needed for the area, there
are apartments on N Black Cat RD and W Gondola RD that have been completed for three
weeks now with not one persons or family moving in yet. Not only that but there is also more
going up on N Black Cat and W Chinden RD not to mention the ones next to Rock Harbor
Church off W Tree Crest Dr that are still awaiting occupancy. As long as the traffic problems,
schools, and public areas are not addressed first there is no room to create new apartments
that will increase traffic in the area. It’s bad enough there is no cross walk at N Black Cat Rd
and W Gondola DR for my kids to safely cross the 50 MPH, N Black Cat RD to get to school at
Pleasant View Elementary. Not only that but the school has a ton of traffic before and after
school. The West Ada School District also had a hard time as it is filling teacher vacancies at
beginning of the year. Imagine if even more students are added. Please stop this build and
do not add more apartments to this area we still have more houses being built on top of it,
that will add to the already existing population.
Thank you,
