Dear Meridian City Council,
While I understand the need to build new housing as our area grows, this proposed project is
not a good solution. The Ten Mile and McMillan area has become extremely busy over the
past 4 years. The new Costco and all the construction west of our neighborhood has made
it challenging traffic wise. There is no crosswalk to our neighborhood playscape across
McMillan at San Vito. There is also a bus stop there and will only be busier with such a high
volume build proposed. Pleasant View Elementary would see added stress and is already at
capacity. Light pollution and low-level crime is a concern with such a large parking lot. The
proposed plan’s street exit point on San Vito will cause congestion as this is right at the
neighborhood entrance.
I disapprove of this proposal because it does not fit with Bridgetower West and it brings
significant safety, population management, and quality of life concerns.
I respectfully request Bridgetower CR-2022-0006 be declined so that a developer may build a
better project. We are asking for something closer to what our community envisioned and
was led to believe was planned. This included duplexes, condos, small houses, etc but not a
large apartment building and large parking lot with a street connecting into our
neighborhood.
