Re : Revised Meridian Centrepoint Apartments, Case H - 2022 -0072
Dear Mr . Dodson ,
Idaho Transportation Department ( ITD ) has received the application for case number H2O22 -0072 located at 3100 N
Centrepoint Way, Meridian , Idaho for review and has the following comments :
1 . This project does not abut the State Highway 55 ( SH -55 ) .
2 . No direct access to the State Highway system is requested with this application and none is approved .
3 . ITD' s Traffic Engineer, Regan Hansen , PE, stated that ITD does not need an analysis for this project .
4 . Any addition , modification , change use , relocation , maintaining, or removal of an encroachment of the state
highway or use of highway right- of-way for any purpose other than normal travel , shall obtain an
Encroachment Permit to use state right-of-way .
5 . Idaho Code 40 - 1910 does not allow advertising within the right- of-way of any State highway .
6 . The Idaho Administrative Procedures Act ( IDAPA) 39 , 03 . 60 governs advertising along the State highway
system . The applicant may contact Justin Pond , Program Manager for ITD' s Headquarters Right- of-Way Section
at ( 208 ) 334- 8832 for more information .
7 . ITD plans to widen SH - 55 in the future . ITD will need dedication of right- of-way along the applicant' s parcel as
the development proceeds .
The City is reminded that SH -55 corridor is already congested . This project will increase the number of vehicle trips in
the corridor . As the City continues to add additional trips to the corridor through development, the congestion will
worsen until the roadway system is ultimately overloaded and fails .
ITD has no further comments at this time .
