Hello,
I’m a current resident in Bridge Tower West, and I’m writing to let you know that I UNEQUIVICALLY OPPOSE an
apartment complex being built on Ten Mile and McMillan.
Reasoning:
The current infrastructure CANNOT AND WILL NOT support vehicle traffic on Ten Mile and McMillan. Why? Because,
Ten Mile and McMillan aren’t wide enough from Chinden to I-84 and from Can Ada to Eagle Rd. They would both need
to be at least as wide as Eagle Rd or more, in order to support the amount of traffic that would be coming through. An
apartment complex would just add to the problem by stacking up tenants, thereby creating an enormous parking lot for
vehicles coming in and out, creating a clog of traffic that can’t be supported by the infrastructure. This doesn’t make
sense, with the amount of homes that are under construction off of McMillan, McDermott, Black Cat, Chinden and
surrounding areas.
Allowing this to occur would be evidently an error of judgment and decision making on the part of the city of Meridian
planning and zoning division.
It was poor enough judgement approving apartments to be built right next door to Costco. This doesn’t make sense
either. The apartments don’t even have residents yet and the tenant parking lot is right next to an already busy
commercial parking lot (Costco).
Another aspect to keep in consideration is school traffic and Owyhee Highschool traffic, Walmart, and Costco. This
would make the drive for cars and school buses EXTREMELY CONGESTED, during rush hours of the day.
I hope that the city planning committee isn’t motivated by more tax payer dollars in order to get this done. If it doesn’t
make infrastructural sense, tax payer dollars appear to be the motivation behind it. What else would it be?
Please STOP this inconsiderate and unthoughtful project from making this area miserable and burdensome for ALL of the
residents and people that have to commute through it. Please LISTEN to the people of this community.
We have a voice and we are speaking up. Please LISTEN to the people.
Thank you,
A very concerned tax paying resident of this local community.
