Hello,
It has come to my attention that there is a large multi family apartment complex planned on McMillan near ten mile. I
wanted to express my concerns about city infrastructure in this area being unable to support this many additional
families. McMillan road is already getting extremely backed up, especially at the stop sign at black cat and McMillan.
Especially during key traffic hours like school pickup, etc you can wait for 15 minutes to get though that stop sign. I have
also observed major backups on McMillan at the apartment complex on McMillan and Meridian as people try to turn left
into the complex and due to heavy stream of traffic have to sit and wait for a full light cycle until they can turn, which in
turn backs up everyone behind them pretty significantly.
I am asking the city to consider not approving this development proposal, at least not without a commitment to
improving the infrastructure on McMillan simultaneously. The road needs to be 2 lanes, or at minimum have a center
lane to facilitate turning into the neighborhoods and complexes, and an improved intersection at black cat and McMillan
with a roundabout or a traffic signal.
