Re:
Keego Springs Sub.
Dear Mr. Campbell:
To clarifY our position on perimeter fence I offer the following. Our typical perimeter fence is 6 foot high
chain linle This is what we install in the absence of coordinating with adjacent development. Ifwe can
coordinate with a developer to provide alternate fencing that meets our security needs and improves the
appearance of the subdivision then we are agreeable. Typical wooden fences with cedar slats do not work
due to vandalism and maintenance. Decorative open iron rails while looking nice, do not work since
household pets come onto our property and our stuff ends up in the neighbors yard. We have considered
the use of a vinyl coated chain link fence up against the open decorative iron fence.
We have successfully used a solid vinyl fence. It meets our security needs and is more aesthetically
appealing to the subdivision. We reserve the right to install our chain link fence immediately inside the
vinyl fence on our property should vandalism or abuse compromise the vinyl fence. To date we have not
installed any chain link adjacent to solid vinyl fencing. We believe that a solid vinyl fence for household
lots is appropriate. Common lots and the school site may be better served with chain link fence since line of
sight security and supervision is important. This needs to be addressed on a case by case base as to what
works for the needs ofthe school and SurrO\Ulding subdivision.
Please feel free to provide our comments to Meridian City for their consideration. Should they have any
questions they may contact me directly or if need be I am willing to attend the appropriate commission or
council meetings.
Should you have any questions please give me a calL
Sincerely,
~~
