We have to have 50' of room for the truck to maneuver into the dumpsters and the angled design works much better. Good afternoon Bill, We ran into an issue with getting this enclosure approved by the City of Meridian. It turns out there is a water line running below the north end of it. The City will not allow an enclosure to built over it. There's also a sewer line just to the south. The City Engineer has agreed to allow the owner to construct an enclosure between these 2 lines, within just a few feet of each (normally 10' is required), but this requires a change from what you previously approved. I see 3 potential options available, which are attached. Option A: This appears to provide the best truck access and clearance. The spacing between dumpsters is the same as shown on the previous approval. The gate opening is increased by 2 feet. Space from dumpster to side walls of enclosure is increased, but space from dumpster to front and back of enclosure is reduced somewhat. Unfortunately depth cannot be increased. Option B: This option rotates the previously approved enclosure 180 degrees. No changes to the enclosure itself. Truck approach is reduced to only about 36' from the arc of the gate and maneuvering into the approach is awkward. Option C: This the first option presented, which would require the driver to pull out the recycling bin to empty it. I'm including it in case the other options are not acceptable and Republic is willing to reconsidering. All plans include 2 sheet — an enlargement of the enclosure and a site plan showing drive lanes and approach. Please let me know if you have any questions. If there is an acceptable option I will proceed with putting together a revised set of drawings for your approval. Thank you, k Brandon Weholt, AIA, NCARB I Principal DESIGN WEST ARCHITECTS, P.A. I have attached the revised layout. Hopefully this is closer to what you're looking for. I'm showing the southern gate swinging 94 degrees (to the curb) and 120 degrees (into the grass). The truck approach is graphically shown 8'-1" wide. Thanks, Nk Brandon Weholt, AIA, NCARB I Principal DESIGN WEST ARCHITECTS, P.A. I have reviewed your plan and would like you to make an adjustment for me. Where there is an enclosure with two dumpsters we ask that you make the enclosure 12'x18' inner dimension in order to accommodate the two dumpsters. It appears that you have enough room to make that adjustment though you may be placing part of the enclosure in front of the parked car shown in the drawing. We attempt to minimize the amount dragging dumpsters that the drivers are required to do especially in inclement weather. We ask that APPROVED DAT 08/24/22 : C; %Uld B;RA-2G22-0111 of the enclosure swing at least 120 degrees and are able to be staked.
