RE: Western States CAT Remodel
Meridian Division of Planning and Zoning,
This renovation of the existing Western States CAT headquarters was designed in
conformance with the city of Meridian Architectural Standards Manual and the Unified
Development Code. This remodel/addition was designed in the contemporary style and
was designed to create a cohesive sense of identity for Western States. The building form
will give the corporate headquarters of Western States an identity that will both improve
and enhance their presence in the community. The building was designed to provide a
human scale at the entry points of the building and to provide scale at a distance.
Plyform concrete, faux wood planks, metal panels and a large curtainwall with shade
louvers combine for a balance between warm natural tones and darker tones that will
provide an attractive and engaging fagade. A small display pavilion with materials similar
to the main addition will also break up the large face of the existing shop as well as new
paint.
This addition will greatly improve on the existing building and work to enhance the
neighborhood as a whole.
