Dear Mayor and City Council: It has also come to my attention that the Mayor and City Council is attempting to change seat #'s between districts 1 and 2 so that current CC members can run again. I am writing to you to formally oppose your attempt to change the map that has already been adopted. The map that was recently adopted was created by an independent committee. The committee was created to give Meridian citizens, such as myself, districts based representation. The ordinance instructed the committee to give no weight to where the current CC members lived. If a new map is voted on, allowing the current CC members (that are outside the new map districts), to run again, we will pursue this to whatever extent possible under the rules and laws related to redistricting.
