I am just.north of he;planned subdivision..I am OPPOSED'to the application due to DENSICTY ISSUES..:I~will be.:out of town. on the night of the hearing, but wanted to give you zny thouglats on this application. The land to the north of Chinden is not in the City of Meridian. It should be in Eagle. Or at least it should be developed in a manner consistent with Eagle policies and in harmony with the adjacent uses. Our lots to the narth are all five acres. To the west is Spurwing, with at least one acre _ lots, and to the east is Brandt Subdivision, with one acre lots. The applicant is attempting to shoe horn in a plan that is much too dense given the surrounding uses. The lots should be 2 acres in size on the perimeter and 1 acre on the interior of the subdivision. All of our neighbors in Almaden, Spurwing, and Brandt feel the same: this project is much too dense. Is there some reason Meridian is compelled to approve every application it considers? Is it necessary that there be a maginot line. between Eagle (quality projects) and Meridian (inferior projects)? Well if C'hinden was to be-that line, then.this.projecthas-crossed the.line and you should reject the application as is and send the developer back to the drawing board. This project would never be approved by Eagle "as is." It should.not be approved by the City of Meridian either. Tammy de Weerd, Mayor Members of the Meridian City Council May 4, 2006 Page 2 Thank you. Very truly yours, Kenneth L. Mallea KLM/dm
