J %UtJa;R:AUP2-0 1 borhood meeting for Neema's family childcare, 4383 W Silver River St
Dear Neighbors,
I am interested in establishing a Meridian -permitted, state -certified childcare within my home at 4383
W Silver River St, Meridian. I plan to care for no more than six children under age 13 at one time
(including my own children). I would like to provide an opportunity for my neighbors to ask questions
or learn more about my childcare plans, and the City of Meridian also requires this as part of the
permit and license process. So, I will be hosting an informational gathering at my home on
Wednesday June 1 at 6:00 pm, and I invite you to attend. If you would like to attend virtually via
Zoom, please text me your name and email, and I will send you a link. I've also included some basic
information below.
If you can't attend but would like to discuss my plans further, please text me at (208)646-8155 or
email me at neemaoci@gmail.com.
I will operate my childcare between 7 am and 7 pm (within Meridian city code). My husband
Olomwene and I will provide transportation for the children, which will prevent parking concerns or
extra traffic. If a parent happens to visit, they will be instructed to escort children safely to and from
cars, to park in our driveway, and to be quiet, not honk or create a nuisance. l will not be making any
exterior or physical changes to our property (no signs visible structures etch
I am a proud first-time homeowner in Meridian, after having arrived in the Treasure Valley as a
Congolese refugee in 2016 and working several jobs. Owning a small business will allow me to
develop professionally and improve my English, while being less physically taxing than manual labor
jobs I have had.
I will always be compliant with state and local childcare regulations, which include: CPR/First Aid
certification, minimum of 12 hours of annual childcare classes, and current Idaho and federal
background checks for all members of my household 13 years or older. I will also pass health, city
and fire inspections before being approved.
When children are in my care, I will be responsible for their supervision at all times. I anticipate
outdoor play time to be limited to one hour after 9 am and one hour after 1 pm, and noise will be kept
below the maximum stipulated by Meridian city code. Olomwene and I will keep our property clean
and in good repair.
I do not anticipate that my small childcare will create any inconvenience for my neighbors. We are
very much enjoying our new home and community, and being very good neighbors to you!
Thank you,
Neema Aoci
