HomeMy WebLinkAboutDesignReviewResponse.5.31.22 V1CUEIDR IAy APPROVED DATE: 06/23/22 FILE NUMBER: a 0210123 4/25/2022: Ascent Townhomes Application No. A-2022-0123 Corrections to Building Elevations were made on this date, to be more consistent with the approved submittal: 1. The pitches of over -build roof gables have been changed back to be consistent with the approved submittal. 2. The small over -build gables over the garage roofs on Buildings AF2 and AF4 have been added back, to be consistent with the approved submittal. 3. Corbels were added back to the elevations, in conjunction with gable vents, in a manner similar to that represented by the example on Page 65, Section D-19 (160802.pdf) of Meridian's Architectural Standards. 4. Gable vents (aluminum), as specified, will have a baked -on paint finish which will be compatible with the color scheme presented. An alternative would be cedar gable vents with a stain/paint compatible with the approved color scheme. Gabel vents perform an important function, that of venting the upper volume of attic space. They also provide some visual interest, which presumably is the intent of suggested corbels. 5. Metal roof at many first -level roof elements provide a change in material texture and add visual interest. 6. Side elevations have added features which enhance those elevations, i.e., more windows, increased area of stone, awnings which pitch to the side over the main entrance (on AF2 and AF4 buildings) to avoid roof drainage issues. 7. A drawing sheet, typically "A14 Exterior Color Schemes", has been incorporated into the drawing set to ensure that the colors of units are executed as approved in the original Design Review for this project. 8. All building elements, materials, and colors meet the intent of the Residential Design Goals, and are consistent with examples illustrated in the Architectural Standards Manual. E IDIAN> APPROVED DATE: 06/23/22 I corrections to Building Elevations have been incorporated, in response to conditional items IIENuM9 n-2022-0121 in a meeting on May 31, 2022, with Bill Parsons and Sonya Allen of the Meridian Planning office, and Robert Campbell, the Project's Contractor, and Doug Houston, Architect: AF2 (Duplex) and AF4 (Fourplex): 1. Side elevations of AF2 and AF4 have been modified to a 3-gable roof framing option, eliminating the former shed roof component. 2. Front and back elevations of AF2 and AF4 have been modified to reflect the change in roofline, resulting from side elevation modifications noted above. BR4 (Fourplex): 1. The Front elevation has been modified to add stone veneer on each unit's main entry component. 2. The accent band has been aligned on the interior units, further defining the material change from stone to siding above. 3. The base of the columns at the entry of each unit have been "beefed-up", to be consistent with the original design review submittal — column base detail has been added. 4. Windows at each End elevation are now matched, for consistency.
