Re: Denial of variance to the city code for access onto Eagle Rd. for Bienville
Square Subdivision.

Dear Madame Mayor and City Council Members,
We'd like to state for the record that we oppose allowing a variance for the
above subdivision for a number of reasons. This project has been before the city
for approval so many times in so many configurations. We doubt their
representatives even know what they're proposing at this point. There is going to
be development of the properties. along- Eagle- Rd and everyone knows that. The
question is, is this the best that can be proposed at this time and what impact
will it have on Eagle Rd and specifically the Carol Subdivision? We have a very
well established neighborhood of mature properties covering almost 50 acres.
We pride ourselves in enjoying a quality of life that is becoming harder to attain
in the Treasure Valley. There still have a rural feel to our neighborhood and yet
we are very close to the economic center to the Valley.
If this Red Cliff Development is allowed access to Eagle Rd, you will also allow
Leslie Way to be turned into a high-speed connector between Eagle and Ustick.
Anyone who leaves BienviJIe on Eagle Rd South can and will use Leslie to head
North on Eagle or either direction on Ustick. We'd like to mention that the newer
homeowners moving into Carol are mostly families with young children and pets.
The increased volumes and speed of traffic will put these families in danger as
well.
It goes without saying that if Carol Subdivision's quality of life is allowed to be
eroded because of increased traffic and poor transitions of property size and
usage with the proposed Bienville Subdivision, we could be negatively impacted
financially as well. We-shouldn't be the victims in this resolution.
Please do the right thing and deny once and for all this request for a variance
allowing Bienville Square Subdivision, a poorly planned and presented project,
and give the residents of Carol Subdivision relief.
We appreciate you allowing our input.
