HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-04-29 Summary Minutes The Meridian Districting Committee convenes to establish City Council districts for the City of Meridian pursuant to Idaho Code section 50-707A and the Ordinances of the City of Meridian Meridian Districting Committee Meeting Agenda City Council Chambers, 33 East Broadway Avenue Meridian, Idaho Friday, April 29, 2022 at 1:30 PM CALL TO ORDER Chair Greer called the meeting to order at 1:32 pm ROLL CALL ATTENDANCE The following committee members were in attendance: Greer, Jagosh, Larsen, Nesmith, Cory, Steed, McClure (ex-officio), Green (ex-officio), Tripple (ex-officio) Others in attendance: Deputy City Attorney Starman, City Clerk Johnson REVIEW AND DISCUSSION OF POTENTIAL DISTRICT MAPS AND METHODOLOGY Doug Green, GIS Manager presented three potential maps for discussion. The committee discussed the methodology and impact of future growth. Mr. Cory requested a list of census blocks that were split. PRELIMINARY RANKING OF POTENTIAL DISTRICT MAPS Committee members ranked the maps in order of preference. Each committee member chose Map 1 as their first choice, Map 2 as their second choice, and Map 3 as their third choice. Results in graph form included in the record. The committee reviewed additional proposed maps by Mr. Cory and Mr. Tripple. ESTABLISHMENT OF MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULE The Committee established the following dates and times for meetings and Public Hearings: Meeting: Friday, May 6, 2022, 1:30 pm Meeting: Friday, May 13, 2022, 1:30 pm Meeting: Friday, May 20, 2022, 10:00 am Public Hearing: Thursday, June 9, 2022 6:00 pm Public Hearing: Wednesday, June 15, 2022, 1:30 pm ADJOURNMENT 2:53 pm NEXT MEETING Friday,
