April 14, 2006
TO:
Meridian City Council
Will Berg, City Clerk
Anna Canning, Planning Director
RECEIVED
APR 14 lUDG
City Of Meridian
City Clerk Office
FROM:
Joseph Silva, Deputy Chief, Fire Prevention
SUBJECT: Clarification of Meridian Gateway File V AR-05-027
I would like to clarify that is was my intent of my letter dated April 7, 2006
that if a signal was installed on the South end of the proj ect that Meridian
Fire Dept. wanted it equipped with an Opticom sensor. I was informed by
the applicant that a signal was being considered at the South end of the
project.
I verified with City staff that the position of ITD is that a signal will only be
allowed at the half mile. With this in mind, it is the position of the Meridian
Fire Department that crossover traffic at this location into the project from
Meridian Rd. will pose a safety hazard to drivers. Therefore we are opposed
to a full access on the South end of the project.
