Dear Meridian Planning & Zoning:
We don't oppose the plan to further develop the lot at the southwest comer of Magic
View and Eagle Road. However, the City of Meridian and Ada County Highway District
need to make some changes to allow better traffic flow into that area west of Eagle Road.
You must know of ACHD's plans to put in a barrier to prevent northbound traffic from
turning left. This will be safer. However, northbound traffic will stack up at the next
intersection. More cars will want to make a left-hand turn than what ACHD is allowing.
There are three suggested solutions:
1. Adjust timing of left-hand arrow to allow more cars to turn left at each cycle.
2. Increase length of stacking lane to allow more cars wanting to make a left to stack.
3. Hang a "u-turn" sign up near the traffic signal, so northbound traffic knows that a
u-turn back to Magic View is allowed.
