It is requested that the preliminary plat approval be
extended for one year. The construction drawings are
complete and the project is close to breaking ground.
Due to difficulty in obtaining a sewer easement,
generally poor market conditions and delays in the
completion of the construction drawings, the project
has not been able to commence within the
established time frame.

Special Privilege:
The granting of the variance does not lessen or
reduce the rights of any adjoining property owners
and should not be considered as anything other than
an extension of what was already approved by the
Meridian City Council. In addition, officers of the
applicant corporation own all of the contiguous
surrounding parcels except for the parcel directly to
the west.
Fee:
Required fee is attached hereto.
Applicant Profit:
The granting of the variance does not provide any
profit potential for the applicant. The request for the
variance is based on a common sense approach that
if the preliminary plat has been approved and there
are no substantive changes to the preliminary plat or
the city ordinances, it would make sense to extend
the preliminary plat without taking the time of the
Planning Commission, City Council and City Staff to
start from square one and repeat the process.

plan and the proposed comprehensive plan.
