I am entirely in agreement with Karen Schmidt to protect and
preserve the Purdam Gulch Drain during development of the
Aviation Subdivision.
I have attached here Karen's recent email to you (for reference)
that explains and illustrates the positives of retaining a more natural
setting there.
I am compelled to point out that whilst Meridian is being paved over
in all its sprawling development, we should have the respect and
responsibility to make some provisional environmental allowance
for the wildlife that is being pushed out.
The Purdam Gulch Drain is listed as a historic site in the “Idaho
Historic Sites Inventory Meridian Area of Impact.”
It is listed under “01-19877 Purdam Gulch Drain - Pioneer Irrigation
District Drainage System. “

Please preserve this historic waterway.
Leaving the gulch as an open water amenity would in no way change the subdivision
building plan. It would just make the 'buffer' more natural and aesthetically pleasing.
