Conifers of approximately 10' in height were planted along Franklin and Linder
Roads according to the plan as included with this application. It was our intent to
improve the appearance of Harks Comer with mature and attractive plants and
trees. It was not our intent to install trees that are not allowed in the Landscape
Ordinance, however, we did not check with the correct people to see if they were
allowed.
The evergreen trees look very good along Linder and Franklin Roads. It would be
the desire of all the business in Harks Comer to keep them there if possible.
AllOw conifers along the roads.
20 trees would have to be removed and replaced.
We did not realize that conifers were not allowed along any street in commercial
areas. We have adequate lighting and security cameras on site, and 3 access
drives; 1 to Linder Road, and 2 to Franklin Road.
Harks Comer is the first business to be built at the Linder/Franklin Road
intersection. It is our desire that it be a very attractive and desirable stop for our
customers.
The Conifers make the landscaping look mature and more attractive than to have
all shade and ornamental trees.
Had we been aware that Conifers are not allowed along the streets, we would
have used other trees. It was our opinion that because it would be better, it would
be acceptable. We did not check with the correct people.
We hope that the goal of the Landscape Ordinance is to beautify all sites, and they
would all be treated that way.
Convenience and profit is always a concern, however our goal is to have a better
looking appearance for Harks Comer.
15. It is zoned CC, and is on an entryway corridor.
