HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-03-01 Jesse Adame PLEASE for profound safety reasons, support the NO of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the Sawtooth Development Group's build on Black Cat Road from below highway 84 to Franklin Road. To whom it may concern; My name is Tobi and my family, and I are 3rd generation Boise residents. I live at 1565 S Black Cat rd which corners on to Overland. There are only two lanes for Black Cat road as well as only two lanes on each turn off such as Lamonte and Overland to only name a couple. Also, these are entries from and exits to the highway at two different close locations on each side of Black Cat rd. These will be a main travel routes for employees as well as trucks from and to this business. The road right now is dangerous due to traffic volume. The magnitude of this IS NOT SAFE. Black Cat rd nor it's turn off roads can keep traffic from stand still at multiple locations. This will increase the rear end collision rates grossly. Speed limits are not now appropriate for this kind of traffic nor it's intensity. At current the speed limits they are dangerous. We have had two wrecks in front of my house alone in the last 4 months. This corner will be a main route for Nampa residents and Lamont will for Boise. Both Nampa and Boise have grown exponentially past the road expectations and parameters. There is a rock quarry just before the freeway that doesn't allow for extension as well as is a cliff like drop off with no barriers. The freeway overpass is two lanes only and comes up a hill that even further negates visibility for both coming and going lanes. All the residents that live on Black Cat as well as it's multiple turn off roads have road facing driveways. We have livestock and children and pets that will be at significantly increased risk as will be all drivers on these roads for safe travel. We do not have subdivision protection. Fire department response times in every direction for our safety and that of businesses will lengthen to further magnify tragedy. For all of us on well water the water tables will drop since the flow is already committed. Who would be liable for our water depletion and the property drops in value? There are extensive reasons presented in the documentation and data given you that negate approval as noted by your staff and colleagues. Multiple issues have been discussed with the applicant numerous times without resolution and the applicant's legal representative has given false information. The only support recommendations are from business owners that have no safety concerns as the families that live on this route. We have no measure of pollutants. While this may bring jobs with it would also bring people. We cannot support our workforce needs as they are, and we are already the highest cost of housing. Should this proposal be approved there will be injury and deaths. Not if but when. I implore you to say NO and keep us safe. With respectful hope, Tobi Howell Adame, Licensed Social worker, mom, sister, aunt and grandma
