RE: Roaring Springs Expansion — Restroom Building
Dear Planner,
On behalf of Roaring Springs we are pleased to submit the attached application and supporting materials
for a new Restroom Building for Design Review. This project will consist of a new single story building
located adjacent to the existing Catering Building at the existing Roaring Springs water park and is part of
a larger expansion to the park that includes new pools and attractions.
The applicant is proposing to construct a new 907 SF single story building. Site access is proposed off an
existing service drive on the North side of the park. This drive, when completed, will form a loop around
the water park and Wahooz and connect back to Overland Road. This Restroom Building is intended to
serve as customer restrooms and is centrally located between the proposed park expansion and the
existing water park.
Building elevations take cues from the existing structures in the water park. Materials include split -face
and smooth concrete block, glazed CMU block at restroom entries, and standing seam metal roofing.
Exterior CMU block color will match existing color: Charcoal. Changes in the texture of the block break
up the massing of the elevations. Glazed CMU block will be utilized at each separate entry to the
restrooms in order to highlight the entry point. A Pacific Blue color is proposed at the Men's restroom
and a Hot Rose color is proposed at the Women's restroom. Metal roofing is to be a blue color to match
with a yellow fascia band at the overhang.
This application has been prepared in coordination with the Meridian Design Manual. We expect that you
