The following wi11 be the requirements andlor concerns to provide minimum levels of fire
protection for the proposed project:

~ne and two family dwellings will requITe a rue-flow of 1,000 gallons per minute
available for duration of- 2 hours to service the entire project. Fire hydrants shal1 be
placed an average of 500' apart. International Fire Code Appendix C
~cceptance of the Water supply for fire protection will be by the Meriilian Fire
Dep?ent and water quality by the Meridian Water Depanment for bacteria testing.

d. Locations with fire hydrants shall have the curb painted red 10' to each side
of the hydrant location. ,
e. Fire Hydrants shall be placed on comers when spacing pennirs.
f. Fire hydrants shall not have any vertical obstructions to outlets within 10'.
g. Fire hydrants shall be place 18" above finish grade.
h. Fire hydrants shall be provided to meet the requirements of the IFe Section
509.5.

06. A11 common driveways shall be straight or have a turning radius of 28' inside
and 48' outside and shall have a clear driving suIface which is 20' wide.
07. Provide a 20' wide Fire Lane for all internal roadways all roadways shall be
marked in accordance with Appendix D Section D1O3.6 Signs.
08. Requiremenrs for dead-end fire apparatus access roads that are between 500' -750'
in length. The roadways shall be built to Ada County Highway Standards cross section
requirements and shall have a clear driyjng surlace, available at all rimes, which is 26'
wide. Streets wÜh less than a 35' street width shan have no parking. Streets with less
than 39' shall have parking only on one side. These measurements shall be based on the
face of curb dimension. Special approval required over 750' IFC Table D 1 03.4.
CJ9, For all Fife Lanes, paint the curb red and provide sign age "No Parking Fire
Lane".
010. Insure that all yet undeveloped parcels are maintained free of combustible
vegetation.

Meridian Fire Department has experienced 2612 responses in rhe year 2004. According
to a report completed by Fire & Emergency Services Consulting Group our requests far
service are projected to reach 2800 in the year 2005 and 3800 by the year 20ID.
EllO. The proposed project lies outside the five-minute response zone goal.
Achievement of this goal is subject to budgetary constraints and is intended to
enhance the probability of a favorable outcome on a request for ;Basíc Life Support.
The budget constraints are typically defined as capital outlay for facilities that are
located within 1.5 miles from a given location and sufficient operational funds to staff
the facilities.
~e fire department requests that any future signalization installed as the result
of the development of this project be equipped with Opticom Sensors to ensure a safe
and efficient response by fire and emergency medical service vehicles. This cost of
this installation is to be borne by the developer.

028. The proposed location of the Meridian Fire Station meets the general
requirements of the Master Sire Plan for fire station locations. The site appears to have
met the minimum lot dimensions required for a satellite fire station location.
029. Al] portions of the buildings located on this project must be within ISO' of a
paved surface as measured around the perimeter of the building.

031. Where a portion of the facility or building hereafter construcred or moved into or

of the Idaho State Fire Mazshal. If the applicant has concerns about meeting the State
Fire Marshal criteria an inspection will be completed at a COst of $20.

a self-inspecrion of their home using the criteria of the Idaho State Fire Marshall.
034. All R-2 occupancies with 6 or mOre units or with 3 floors shall be required to be
