Based on current enrollment data specific to the area surrounding this proposed development, we estimate a development consisting of 93 single-family units could house approximately 40 school aged children.Approval of this application will affect enrollments at the following schools in West Ada School District based on attendance areas for the 2021-22 school year. For your information, included in this data is the number of approved preliminary plat parcels and multi-family units approved by this and other agencies. Assuming the area's student generation rates remain the same and the developments build out as projected, the capacity of the elementary schools identified above are projected to be at a maximum capacity upon completion of the 3089 approved lots. The high school is also projected to be operating at or above building capacity upon the completion of the 6559 approved lots. These projections do not take into consideration the impact of additional seats provided by education organizations outside of the West Ada School District, such as charter schools, private schools and homeschools. To meet the need for additional school capacity in this area one or more of the following may need to be accomplished: • Transporting students to an alternate school with available classrooms. • Attendance area adjustments if there is availability in a nearby school. • Portable classrooms placed on the property. • Passage of a bond to build new schools to fit the enrollment needs. The district currently owns: ■ 2 elementary school sites within the Pleasant View Elementary Attendance Area ■ 1 middle school site within the Star Middle School Attendance Area ■ 1 high school site within the Owyhee High School Attendance Area West Ada School District acknowledges and appreciates the developer for providing emergency access to the high school through their subdivision and creating a parcel of land for LDS Seminary to service West Ada students. Future developments will continue to have an impact on the district's capacity. Sincerely, Marci Horner Planning and Development Administrator
