RE: Support for Black Cat Industrial Project (H-2021-0064)
Dear Mayor Simison and Council,
This letter is to show support for the Black Cat Industrial Project.
Scentsy has experienced a couple periods of tremendous growth over the past 17 years. In fact,
in the past 18 months we have doubled in size, surpassing the $1 billion in annual revenue for
the first time. Due to this recent growth, we are in the process of completing an additional
275,000 square feet of warehouse space to Scentsy Commons, bringing the total square feet on
campus to over one million square feet. After these current projects are completed, our on-
campus industrial ground will be used up and our ability to facilitate any future growth on
campus will be gone. If we continue to grow, Scentsy will be forced to look outside of Meridian
for industrial space in the coming years because of the short supply of light industrial real
estate.
Therefore, we wish to offer our support for the proposed Black Cat Industrial Project. It will be a
great fit for not only Scentsy but for dozens of companies needing space and wanting to stay in
Meridian. It will provide a much-needed increase in supply of light industrial properties and its
proximity to the future new 1-84 and Highway 16 interchange will reduce traffic concerns on
local streets.
