Watertower, Suite 202 Meridian, ID 83642 RECEIVED MAR 0 7 2006 City Of Meridian City Clerk Office Subject: Request for Continuation for Harks Canyon Creek AZ 05-056, PP 05-058, CUP 05-051 Dear Ms. Canning: After public testimony and some deliberation at the February 7,2006 meeting, the Meridian City Council agreed to continue the subject project to the March 7,2006 agenda. The reason for the continuation was to allow the Council to receive information and to consider dimensional standards for the Traditional Neighborhood Residential District at the March 7 meeting. The subject project was then planned for consideration at that same meeting. I understand that the Council will not be receiving staff information or taking public testimony on the TNR district dimensions on March 7,2006. As you are aware, Harks Canyon Creek includes a rezone request for the Traditional Neighborhood Residential district. We have proposed TNR standards for street widths, alley widths and setbacks that are instrumental in the design of the project and, we feel, are chief components in making this urban zoning district work. Our development team applauds the staff and Council for including this alternative and progressive zoning designation in the Unified Development Code; however, typical suburban dimensions and setbacks are not applicable in this innovative zoning district. We request continuation of the subject project to the date of (and on the agenda after) the Council's consideration of the TNR standards (ZOA 05-002).
