The applicant is also requesting a Variance to UDC 11- 3A-IIC for exposed light bulbs on the proposed athletic field lighting fixtures. Proposed Institutional Square Footage: 68,875 Number of Proposed Buildings: 1 Number of New Ball Fields: 3 Other: The requirement for downshielding is two-fold: one is to prevent light pollution of the night sky, the other is to prevent glare on adjoining properties. The School District has addressed the glare on the adjoining properties. Staff recognizes that this ball field use is different from standard non-residential uses in the City and is therefore recommending approval.
