Hi Amanda,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns about the Centerville application. I have copied the city clerk and
planning department staff. Because this is an open application, the Mayor and Council are prohibited from commenting
outside of the public record. That said, I want to assure you that your email and comments have been received by the
Mayor and Council, and are now part of the public record and will be added to the application file.
Sincerely,
Dave Miles

Subject: Opposition of Centerville Subdivision
Message: Hello,
I am a resident of the Century Farm neighborhood. I'm writing to you in regards to the plans for the Centerville Subdivision at
the corner of E. Amity Road and S. Hillsdale Ave.
I am concerned about school overcrowding, incongruence with the Meridian City Future Land Use Map, and increased traffic.
All of these areas would be negatively impacted by this development. Hillsdale Elementary is already close to capacity and
building a high density development would certainly cause the school to be overcrowded. The Meridian City Future Land Use
Map has this area zoned as “low density” in keeping with the city’s goal to “ensure that Meridian is a premier place to live,
work, and raise a family.” This proposed high density development is roughly 3 times the planned amount of residents on that
parcel. Traffic is also a concern as Amity Road is a 2 lane road that is already congested. Also, the traffic study was done during
the COVID lockdown so the results are inaccurate.
Challenger Development has an opportunity here to develop something our community can truly be proud of. I hope that the
plan ultimately accepted by the City will address these concerns to better create an evolving, livable, vibrant, and connected
neighborhood in line with #MyMeridianVision.
Sincerely,
Amanda Billingsley
