Hi Kathy,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns about Centerville application. I have copied the city clerk and
planning department staff. Because this is an open application, the Mayor and Council are prohibited from commenting
outside of the public record. You email and comments are part of the public record and will be added to the application
file.
Sincerely,

Message: I am very concerned and unhappy with the development going in on the land at Amity Rd & Hillsdale. When we
purchased our home in Hillsdale Creek we were informed that that land was owned by CBH and they were going to be
building single family homes. We purchased our home with that information. Nothing was mentioned about high density or
medium density homes. The roads and schools do not accommodate the traffic that will bring.
My granddaughter who also lives in Hillsdale Creek with her family was attending Hillsdale Elementary. I emphasize was. 2
years ago my daughter ended up pulling her out because her class size had grown to the point that she wasn’t getting the one
on one she needed. Also there were days she was eating her lunch on the cafeteria floor because there wasn’t enough setting.
Looking at all the other developments going in in the area (new phase Sky Mesa, The Keep, new phase Shelboure, etc.) these
homes are also slotted to go to Hiilsdale Elementary. Because of over the crowding, my daughter along with her taxes, is also
paying for a private school so my granddaughter can get decent education. What’s wrong with picture?
As mentioned by your board at the last meeting, Meridian is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.. I understand the
excitement the city must feel with all this revenue coming in BUT I feel it is at the communities expense. Our roads, schools,
police/fire departments, stores, etc do not accommodate the growth. Why are we adding medium/high density building when
we can’t even accommodate the single family homes? I can’t help but feel that it has a little more to do with greed verse what
the people want or need. Bottom line, We need to fix the infrastructure in South Meridian before we even consider putting in
any medium density homes.
Sincerely,
Kathy Harris
