Re: ASM Narrative
Eight Thirty Common, a gastropub located in Old Town Meridian adjacent to Generations Plaza,
is planning to install a heated patio tent on a portion of their existing outdoor dining area. The
tent will be approximately 15 feet wide, 45 feet long and 12 feet high and will have a maximum
seating capacity of 36 guests (8 tables). The structure will be temporary for Fall and Winter and
will abut the south wall of the restaurant allowing for the existing roll-up garage doors to be
opened into the tented area. The structure will have three clear walls which will allow patrons
to see out and passerby’s to see in, especially important during the holiday season. The
structure will have two doors on each end allowing ingress/egress and pass-through for patrons
from the existing parking lot.
As envisioned, the tent will be standard design and construction and will be removed in the
spring, thus making it difficult to achieve all design standard set forth in the ASM checklist.
We feel the tent is an important, temporary addition to our business especially considering the
affinity guests have for “outdoor” dining as COVID-19 is still a concern. The additional square
footage also promotes comfortable separation during Fall and Winter months.
Thank you for your consideration,
