Project: Calvary Chapel Meridian
Conditional Use Permit Application
Contact: Greg Pachman – greg@ccmeridian.org
This narrative applies to and goes along with the attached photos. We hope that this will meet
the need of an elevation drawing/concept.
Orginal Approval Date:
May 17, 2018
Original Approval Expired:
May 17, 2020
Reason for inability to meet the renewal timeline:
The employee responsible for completing this document resigned from his position and no longer work for
Calvary Chapel Meridian. Upon returning from Covid stay at home orders, this permit was found to be
expired.
Time period for extension:
We are requesting a two (2) year extension. We currently have a building permit submitted and is going
through the approval process at the city building division.
Building scale
The building will be designed on a scale typical to industrial buildings. It will be two story in height allowing
for a high ceiling height in the main worship space and for two story ancillary functions (offices, meeting
rooms, etc.).
Building Form
The form of the building will follow its function. The building exterior walls will undulate around the main
worship space making a visual separation from the remainder of the building. This will introduce depth to
the building facade so the building will not appear as a mere box. While the building will height of the
building will be predominantly the same; the use of varied parapet heights and single sloped roof will give
the appearance of an articulated roof line. The building facade will incorporate at least three materials
providing texture and interest. The facade will also incorporate the materials to provide horizontal and
vertical breaks creating visual rhythm and pattern.
Architectural Elements
The building front facade will provide a welcoming and distinct entry to direct persons clearly. The entry
element will incorporate more glazing to provide a visual connection to the courtyard and interior lobby.
The exterior courtyard will allow for building occupants to congregate outdoors. It will have enhanced
landscape and planters to define the boundaries. The courtyard will have a shade structure to shield from
concentrated sunlight.
All building equipment (roof top and ground mounted) will be screen visually with parapets, screen walls, or
landscaping.
Architectural Materials
The building front facade will have a material mix of including glass, stucco, metal panels and stone
type materials. The goal is to use common building materials in uncommon ways (texture, pattern,
orientation) to provide architectural interest.

Nathan Cooney
