I will consider this your final approval. I also inquired if trees are allowed in SID’s easement; they told me that SID’s easement was actually along the southern boundary and not in the buffer – I had them revise their letter to exclude this info and I removed it from the approval letter. The deciduous trees proposed are 2” caliper and the evergreens are 6-8’ tall per UDC standards – although not touching now, I feel they’d be pretty overcrowded if we required more. As proposed, the landscaping exceeds UDC standards (code only requires 1 tree per 35’ in the buffer – they’re proposing trees that touch at maturity which results in over twice the number of trees typically required. I attached a copy of the revised letter for your review. Again, if we don’t want to allow wood, we should specifically exclude it in the code. I’ve looked at the landscape plan, but haven’t studied it like I assume you have. I have some concerns with approving any alternative compliance here, but if you are comfortable with their request…I have signed the letter. Please note that I’ve added some questions and comments. You don’t necessarily need to respond to me, but if you could address them (or at least think about them) in your approval I would appreciate it.
