Vineyards Ave Dear Meridian City Council, We are asking you to grant a shed variance in our backyard. When we bought the shed we were unaware that we needed a permit and variance, because it is not on a permanent foundation. Stor Mor Sheds did not inform us that we may need one. The reason we had the shed installed was due to a letter that we had received from the Homeowners Association regarding my work truck. I work for Idaho Power as a Troubleman, which requires me to have the bucket truck at home in case of a power outage. There were some concerns that people could not see around the truck, even though it was legally park in front of the house. Through out my twenty-five year career with Idaho Power, safety has always been a priority. So in order to address this safety concern with the HomeownerAssoc. (see attached letter) we decided it could be resolved by installing a shed in the backyard, thus freeing up room to park the Truck in the driveway. The shed doesn't obstruct anyone's view. It is not in the easement right way of any utilities. There is no pressurized irrigation in the backyard See attached letters and pictures. Thank you for your time and consideration. Vineyards Ave. Mike & Sonja Redden If you have any concerns about the shed please come to 1418 N. Vineyards on Wednesday November 7, 2007 @7pm. We are required by City of Meridian to hold this meeting to try to resolve any issues or concerns you might have about the shed. COMMITMENT OF PROPERTY POSTING Per Unified Development Code (UDC) 11-5A-5D, the applicant for all applications requiring a public hearing (except for a UDC text amendment, a Comprehensive Plan text amendment and/or vacations) shall post the subject property not less than ten (10) days prior to the hearing. The applicant shall post a copy of the public hearing notice of the application(s) on the property under consideration. The applicant shall submit proof of property posting in the form of a notarized statement and a photograph of the posting to the City no later than seven (7) days prior to the public hearing attesting to where and when the sign(s) were posted. Unless such Certificate is received by the required date, the hearing will be continued.
