Dear Mayor Simison & City Council Members -
My name is Clare Gaylord. I reside at 717 S Crosstimber Ave in Woodbridge Subdivision and am an
Associate Real Estate Broker. I am asking that my letter be reviewed by the City Council and included in the
public comments.
I may be one of the few members from my subdivision that supports the proposed development next to our
subdivision and projects similar to this one in the remaining open acreage to the east.
However, my complaint and opposition to this project is strictly with the traffic generated from this
development and future ones that continue to push traffic through Woodbridge.
Several years ago the apartment complex on Magic View was fought vigorously by our community and
Greenhill Estates. At that time, the Mayor recommended that ACHD be contacted and asked to study the
future ingress/egress options in another location to help alleviate traffic from Woodbridge. It appears little
thought, follow-up or project approval from our City Planning and Zoning Department be made regarding
this request to ACHD since here we are again fighting this issue.
I contend our City Council can force ACHD and ANY developers to install additional ingress/egress routes as
a condition to future annexations and development.
Mr. Mayor, you and City Council Members are our last line of defense in protecting the residents and
especially our children from the abuse and danger additional traffic causes. I know we have asked for bold
markings for our crosswalks before with no action made. Speeders on Woodbridge constantly ignore the 25
miles per hour speed limit and pay little heed to the "Camaflauged Crosswalks", as they commute to
work especially in the mornings.
Since the approval of this new development appears imminent, I am requesting those crosswalk markings
and speed bumps be installed at least until another route for traffic is constructed for future developments.
Respectfully,
Clare Gaylord
