Thank you for taking the time to read my e mail concerning the Proposed Centreville subdivision on Amity Road. I am in opposition to the proposed zoning change that would allow the construction of 168 multi-family units built in a 3 story complex along with townhomes and single family homes. This is not in keeping with the original vision of the Meridian Land Use Plan. The development will only add more stress to an overburdened area. The schools that will service this area are already over or near capacity. Hillsdale Elementary is estimated to be at 116% of capacity with this development. Lake Hazel Middle School will be at 108% and Mountain View High School at 121% of capacity. This development will over burden the roads leading into the affected area both from Amity Road and Macumbo Road out of the Rockhampton development. The multi-family use is not in keeping with any development in the immediate area. Our children will be made to attend over crowded schools and navigate an increased amount of street traffic while walking in the area. In addition, this development will continue to tax an already over burdened irrigation situation in the area. This will adversely affect homeowners that are already facing the reality off wells running dry and irrigation levels being dropped due to the lack of available water from our reservoirs. This is not the right development for this area. I ask that you please deny the re- zoning request and honor the land use plan that is in place now. Thank you very much.
