Hello,
I am writing in regards to the proposed Wells st assisted living/Andorra subdivision project located at 675,715,955
s Wells st in Meridian, Idaho. I am writing as a resident of Woodbridge subdivision. Just last year the Woodbridge
subdivision was in favor and supported a similar development. Unfortunately, that one fell through. This new
development that we are faced with is far different. To start with, 2 story homes would be lining our fence line, most of
the woodbridge homes being single story. My home would have 2 -3 two story homes looking over into my backyard
with little to no privacy. Every window in my home faces east, making it necessary to keep all of my window coverings
closed.
This development would also not be 55+ like we had supported in the past with the previous development. This
would be open to families, adding extra cars and traffic. And also affecting our school districts.
Another concern would be the impact this subdivision would have on our already broken traffic pattern through
our subdivision. It is well known that issues we face with the amount of traffic coming through our "cut through"
neighborhood. At rush hour and morning commute times it is a steady stream of cars. Most not obeying the speed limit,
several times I have almost gotten into accidents just trying to get out of our own neighborhood. I have small children
that I constantly have to worry about their safety with the speeding traffic that comes through. We have no speed
bumps, nor crosswalks making it an already dangerous situation. Adding additional single family homes will only
increase the traffic coming through.
Parking will also be another big concern. We are already facing overflow parking from the Meridian assisted living
facility on the corner of Magic view and Wells st. There are cars lined along Magic View st., making it difficult to get by
when there are 2 cars passing on the street. I foresee the same thing happening with overflow parking from this
development.
This project does not have what is best for the area in mind. This is all about lining their pockets with no regard to
the Woodbridge subdivision. This would be a mistake to approve this development.
