As I write this I am saddened... I love Idaho, the Meridian area in particular, and wonder if I’m giving up on
hope so soon after relocating here!
I worry about Meridian’s development proposal for the Centerville subdivision that will probably end up
overriding the desired medium density housing that matches the surrounding neighborhoods near E. Amity
Road and S. Hillsdale Avenue.
I worry that all that beauty, the stunning farmlands that give a calm and peaceful feeling of residing in the
country, the neighborhood connections through walkways, pathways and parks, will be lost in, overcrowding,
garbage and mismanagement of funds. The high density housing proposal is a quality of life issue. It’s about the
insult of paying a premium to buy here and then P&Z's plans to take away our ability to spread out, and having
to deal with traffic gridlock no matter what time of day you go out. The actual conditions of the roads are
dreadful too.
I moved to Meridian because of the blending of city life with suburban community-oriented neighborhoods and
not for high density housing. Please keep Meridian true to its hype as one of the "Best Places to Live."
