I'm writing in response to the proposed Hillsdale high-density housing project. As a long-time resident of the area and living on Amity Road, I am VERY concerned about the impact this will have on traffic and the community as a whole. The current level of traffic on Amity Road at times already makes it nearly impossible for those of us living on Amity to SAFELY enter the road from our driveways. The infrastructure is also a concern. Our roads do not support the increased volume of traffic this will cause and our schools are currently bursting at the seams. I am particularly concerned about the impact this will have on the water table. I recently had to replace my well pump only to find that the pump needed to be placed 20 feet lower due to the reduction in the water table. We are seeing similar results throughout the valley with wells going dry. Those of us in the unincorporated parts of Ada County feel we have no voice and those on the various Boards fail to recognize our needs. Those of us who live here moved here for a reason. And it was NOT to see our community overrun with high density housing projects that diminish our quality of life. I strongly encourage you to consider the negative impact this project will have on our community and hope you will seek input from those of us living in the area.
