Hello, Honorable Mayor Simison, Meridian City Council, and City of Meridian Planning & Zoning Commission,
We are writing in strong opposition to the The Oasis Nightclub Conditional Use Permit to our city at
the corner of Ustick and Eagle Road, or anywhere within 5 miles of any housing developments,
schools of any age, shopping centers or city parks as these are where families and children
congregate. We agree with the comments made by Jon Hastings, Cherie Hoeger, Jon
Hoeger, Sherry and Chuck Garry, Jim Dildine, and the several informative contributions made by
Mike and Malissa Bernard (here, here, here, here, and here) who all oppose this project.
Carefully consider the statistics on fatalities at this intersection submitted by Zach R, and Nick
Davis and the studies and data submitted by Dave and Becky Sattler. Please also consider that St
Luke's and St Alphonsus Emergency Centers are located north and south of this intersection and
would be impeded by the traffic at nearly all hours if this we added. We ask that you include our
voice with the others previously mentioned, and we request the city deny the application and any
subsequent requested reviews.
