Meridian City Council, As a Meridian City resident for the past 15 years I would like to voice my concern over the Oasis Night Club that is proposed at the corner of Eagle and Ustick. My main concern is the location that is literally 300 feet from homes, residents, families, church’s, daycares and schools. This is not any place for a night club, as I can imagine none of you would appreciate an establishment like this right outside your front door. Please consider the residents that live closest to this location and protect our Meridian neighborhoods! I am not against the Oasis opening a business in Meridian but location is everything and there are much, much better options available, please take this into consideration. I won’t elaborate as I know you’ve heard all of the concerns and will again on Tuesday night. But traffic is a huge concern also. I don’t know how often any of you drive through the Eagle and Ustick intersection but it is busy, busy, busy! A night club closing at 2:00 am will put so many inebriated drivers on Eagle Rd, coming and going all night, that I can’t believe it would even be considered as an option. Please help those of us who use this intersection, almost every time we leave our homes, stay safe from this added traffic and the possibility of impaired drivers! I wish I could attend the meeting on Tuesday evening to speak about my concerns but I will be working, at the hospital, during the meeting time. Therefore, I’m sending this email in opposition and I stand with all of those who speak in front of the council begging for your protection for our neighborhoods and families. Please don’t let us down. The affected neighbors cannot just pick up and move but the Oasis can easily find a new, more appropriate location. Thanks for your time and all the work you do to keep Meridian such wonderful city to live in! Tonya Melander 3644 N Summercrest Pl Meridian, ID 83646 1
