Subject:Centerville Subdivision Proposal - South Meridian

To Whom It May Concern,
As a resident of the Hillsdale Creek subdivision in South Meridian, it has come to my attention that the city has received
a proposal for a large multi-unit development on the corner of Amity and Hillsdale Lane. I am not opposed to this
property being developed, but I am very worried about the high density nature of the current proposal. My concerns are
as follows:
- School Crowding. Hillsdale Elementary School is currently at its maximum capacity and so are many of the neighboring
elementary schools. Where will the children living in this new development be going to school?
- Traffic. Hillsdale Lane and Amity are both becoming very congested at this point in time. Can the infrastructure really
handle a significant increase in traffic?
- Parking. It is my understanding that some of the units will have tandem parking and very little common parking,
according to the engineering firm responsible for the design, which does not seem practical for a 2-car family. Where
will these additional vehicles be parked?
- Multi-Density Approach. The current proposal as I understand it calls for 120 apartment units. This is not in keeping
with the style of the existing community. There are no apartments within at least one mile of our development.
Please let me know if you would like to discuss this further with me.
Thanks,
Chris Johnson
