gE: Sutherland Farm, Inc application for annexing & zoning
To: Meridian City Council
Dear Council Members,
My husband & I own the property on Victory Road directly to the south of the proposed
Sutherland ]Farm development and where they plan for the entry and egress to the
development omo Victory Road.
Properties on both north and south of Victory Road in this area are 5 acre parcels for the
most part. We object to the southern portion ofthe proposed development where higher
density of residences would be adjacent to Victory Road.
Our concern is for the additional traffic trying to get onto Victory Road in front ofour
residence. Due to ~he uaflic congestion of the Freeway and Eagle Road, there is much
more high-speed traffic on Victory Road. It is difficult now for us to safely turn west
omo Vi~ory Road and mom traffic entering across the road would compound the
problem. When traffic is congested on the Freeway due to an accident or icy conditions,
traffic on Victory Road is often at a stand still and bumper-to-bumper.
We are also concerned tlutt the traffic turning out of the devdopmcnt onto Victory Road
would shine directly into thc front of our residence at night, A fence along the southern
boundary might help some but that still wouldn't prevent lights shining in from traffic
turning east from the development onto Victory Road.
The answer would be to keep the southern portion of the development at five acre parcels
and keep the higher density commercial and residential zonin$ and annexing toward thc
north and Overland Rd,
Sincerely,
n Reinkd
