To the City Leaders of Meridian, This note is to request that you PLEASE don’t allow the Oasis Nightclub to come to Meridian. The nightclub scene is for big cities, not our Meridian. Meridian is such an attractive place to live due to its low crime and family values. A nightclub like Oasis just doesn’t fit into our culture. All of us in the Treasure Valley are significantly concerned about growth because along with it comes high home prices, high traffic, and more crime. We’ve already got the stifling traffic and homes prices that are unattainable to most Idahoans; let’s not add more crime to the mix. As a mother of three young adults, I worry about my kids sharing the road with the patrons of this proposed nightclub. Losing a child, relative, friend, neighbor, or anyone in our community to a drunk driver is the worst kind of pain there is. I cringe at the thought of the number of Oasis patrons who will get into their cars and drive Eagle Road after a night of partying. Please reconsider this proposal and please do what’s right for the families who call Meridian, Boise, Eagle, and Kuna our home. Very respectfully, Jennifer De Anda 1
