Subject: Proposed Remote Covered Pharmacy Drive -Through addition.
To whom it may concern:
This letter is to detail the intent of Kroger Inc. to add a remote Pharmacy Drive -Through to the
Fred Meyer building and property at the intersection of North Locust Grove Road and East
Fairview Avenue in Meridian, Idaho.
This property and its use are to remain the same (C-G zoning).
The scope of work will include;
a. Addition of a Pharmacy Drive -through which will cover approximately 1,126 square feet.
b. The canopy roof structure will be open on all sides, and have structural columns,
and a new "Pharmacy Drive -Through" exterior mounted sign. (See the enclosed exterior
elevations.)
c. The site around the PRX drive -through will be reconfigured to accommodate a new drive -through
aisle, and a concrete island for the roof columns and pneumatic tube system. (See enclosed
site plan)
All phases of work will be staged so that it allows the store to remain operational during construction. The
work will occur in such a fashion that site and building access is maintained and disruption to all neighbors,
residential and commercial, is minimized. The Certificate of Zoning Compliance, of which this letter is a

1 The PRX drive-thru was determined to be within 300' of
the next closest drive—thru. The City said that it will
have to go through the conditional use process. It will be
permitted separately from the rest of the package. The
MPU and the revision at the garden will be submitted as a
part of the main building submittal package. The
Certificate for Zoning Certificate submittal should take
about nine days.
2 The planning dept. will require: (Conditional Use)
A site plan showing all changes. The PRX drive-thru
will need to have signage designating the entry & exit;
yield signage, and no parking signage in the main drive
aisle. The curbing will need to change to closer to 90
degree angle to slow traffic coming back into the main
drive aisle. The City will also require a photometric test
showing the exterior lighting output of lumens. They
also suggested showing cars in the drive -through to
illustrate stacking and making the lane longer.
Presentation boards will be required for a neighborhood
meeting (Date TBD).

proposal to add on to the south elevation, a drive -through prescription service canopy to work with the
existing pharmacy within the main store. Prior to applying to The City of Meridian, we would like to take
the opportunity to discuss the proposal in more detail with you.
