RE: Heron Village Expansion As the owners of a townhouse in the Heronbrook Homes which are across from the proposed additional apartment buildings. We believe the expansion of 36 more units to this area will only increase traffic problems at North Meridian Road from E. Blue Heron Lane. For safety and traffic flow reasons, at least one additional way for traffic to flow in and out of E. Blue Heron Lane is a must and should be written into the Land Group plan. An easy solution would be to join E. Blue Heron Lane to E. Blue Heron Street. This would be less than 500 feet of new road. This would make alternate accesses to this area from Meridian Road, Ustick Road, Fairview Avenue and Locust Grove Road. That portion left uncompleted has been posted for the future development of a road for quite some time. (See attached pictures.) East Blue Heron Lane is already very crowded mornings, evenings, and weekends. It is so congested that if emergency vehicles needed to get in or out it would be nearly impossible. While we understand the need for affordable housing in Meridian, please consider the safety of its residents first. We believe that should be the city’s primary consideration.
