To Meridian City, I have grown tired of the lack of city planning, road improvements and expansions, impact fees, new schools for the ever increasing population, parks, grocery stores you name it we lack it. The only thing we don’t lack are people at Meridian City signing off on everything Developers put on their desks to build more homes and apartments. Do we have an experienced City Planner or are we just flying by the seat of our pants hoping all ends well and every developer in the valley is enriched to the point they can afford to live wherever and however their hearts desire? I would imagine most developers can also afford to send their kids to private schools because those of us that can’t afford that option know all of our schools are overwhelmed with the amount of students attending the public schools that we do have currently. If you build do it responsibly, plan for traffic, build schools, build grocery stores so we don’t have to travel an hour in bumper to bumper traffic parked in the middle of the street barely moving. When will you require Developers to shoulder the load instead of tax payers? Where are the impact fees or at least a moratorium on building until the road system can accommodate more growth? Adding a round-about in the case of Victory and Locust Grove is a joke. The traffic is already awful, simply adding a round about will make sure north and south bound traffic will clog Locust Grove non-stop and make it a life threatening event every time someone from a subdivision attempts to turn onto Locust Grove. I’m sure you have a study refuting that but I am here to tell you that regardless of your study Locust Grove is already a log jam. I am sick and tired of hearing loved ones tell me, nearly daily, how they were almost T-Boned or rear ended while trying to get anywhere in Meridian or Boise, or how they witnessed a severe traffic accident. You shouldn’t have to thank God you made it alive every time you get to work, a grocery store or get home. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.idahostatesman.com/entertainment/ent-columns-blogs/words- deeds/article250015884.html I’m not sure what you hope to build or create in Meridian by adding homes and apartments to every space that hasn’t been built on, but if you aren’t careful this monstrosity will have your name on it when it is all said and done. Your legacy will be changing the City of Meridian from a place people desire to live to a place people flee in frustration and dissapointment from. If you build apartments, homes, and townhomes then charge the developers impact fees and be proactive instead of reactive in building the schools, parks, and grocery stores while maintaining some open space so that people in the community can live a physically and mentally healthy life verses what this is becoming. Please, take a step back, slow down, take a breath, and plan for the future. Stop letting developers call the shots and build without consideration for the community in every space available. Our roads are overwhelmed, are schools are over flowing with students, our open spaces are nearly gone, please plan and stop reacting after the fact when it is too late to make changes and impact our community in a positive way. Be positive now and plan responsibly. Sincerely, Andrew Allen 1 aallen0007@msn.com 2
