Hello, my name is Travis. I have lived in Idaho for over 50 years. I graduated from Meridian High
School in 1986. Life in our area was obviously a lot different then. My best Friend lived in Eagle Idaho
and I guess you could call eagle our stomping grounds. We roamed several different properties
hunting birds and well, just doing boy stuff. All is gone now and nothing but subdivisions remain. Even
the Lonesome Dove Ranch was tore down and didn't survive being a staple location for a popular city
Ho-Down. Money and Greed always seem to prevail over what should really matter, boy you can
almost pick a subject here and find little untouched by this circumstance. Funny but I was actually
born in California and still have family there. Eagle is beyond recognition now and has become
something different that does not reflect what Idaho has to offer. As a matter of fact, it was replaced
with what stands there now if you ask me. Not my idea of investing in Idaho. The life that was there
got pushed out and if we don't pull back the reins now, all might be lost. This is happening all over.
How long till the farmers, Ranchers and Diaries are gone? Farmland is still being developed into
subdivisions. You cant farm desert.
I bet a couple of you live in Subdivisions that have Rentals. I also would guess that you have noticed
that these occupants don't conduct themselves like others. Like letting there dog poop in your yard
and not pick it up, Speed through the neighborhood, Don't quiet their barking dog etc.... my guess is
by now you have come up with your own examples of what I am talking about. People act this way
because they don't have the same out look as you. The difference is one has an investment in the
area and the other does not. The housing project is not different. Doesn't matter if it's apartments,
multi family town house or whatever name you give it. Adding greater numbers the the community
that have no investment in Idaho is just not going to work. Don't choose Money before Idaho. There is
only one way to keep Idaho the way it is and you know the answer. Skinny Dipper hot springs,
Kirkham hot springs are some great examples of what we have to look forward to. If you are like me
and are a true Idahoan, you would never think of doing anything like this to an Idaho location. People
don't care about rules, authorities and the greater good for a collective ideal place or way of thought.
This pandemic has shown us that. You have the power to save Idaho and to restore it's precious state
that has already been tampered with. Put it back please, every chance you get.
Also, I am just curious about who's dime paid for the acquiring of the property in the first place? Who
paid, for the demo of the house? I am no tree huger, more Idaho redneck if you didn't already figure
that out LOL. But who's idea was it to cut down the big old trees.. and worse yet you leveled all the
tress and left the UGLY big pine tree. Looks to me like the Money bus is already rolling. Lets hope
not. So in short, if you want to live in Portland or Seattle, go live there. Stop choosing money before
Idaho and it's people. Like Mark Johnson from KTVB said one day when talking about a popular
Idaho hunting an fishing access point about Trash and destruction, "True Idahoans wouldn't do that",
so if he knew the difference, I know some of you do.
