Dear City Council Members and City Clerk,
I am writing in strong opposition to the The Oasis Nightclub Conditional Use Permit to our city at the
corner of Ustick and Eagle Road, or anywhere within 5 miles of any housing developments, schools of
any age school children, shopping centers or city parks as this is where families and children congregate.
I can see absolutely no reason why a nightclub would be appropriate in this area and see not a single
advantage for the City of Meridian. Please take action to stop this from moving forward. The proposed
area is not zoned for this and should never be.
I agree with the comments made by Jon Hastings, Cherie Hoeger, Jon Hoeger, Hoo Hash, Sherry and
Chuck Garry, Jim Dildine, and the several informative contributions made by Mike and Malissa Bernard
(here, here, here, here, and here) who all oppose this project. Please consider the studies and data
submitted by Dave and Becky Sattler, as well as the statistics on fatalities at this intersection submitted
by Zach R, and Nick Davis. I ask that you count our voice with all of theirs, and we request the city deny
the application and any subsequent review requests.
